2 years, a few changes...

So, as i suspected I havent been very active with my blogging... I'll get better, I promise!!

I've decided that the blog is to be about more than just hair... lol  There's so many great hair blogs out there that I learn from, I honestly don't have anything new to add to the "hair game".  (chocolate hair vanilla care is a complete lifesaver for me with my little one BTW, if you havent ever been there, you're missing out! http://www.chocolatehairvanillacare.com

Anyway, I'll blog about other things, like books (one of my absolute favorite things in the world), baking, and nails.  When I'm not at work, or hanging out with my family, I'm probably doing one of those three things..

Speaking of work... That'll do for now, TTYL.. Bye

Twist out Ponytail

So, as a part of my ongoing effort to get the cheerleader to embrace her hair, I have been looking at another blog for inspiration tweenyhair.blogspot.com and showing her all of the beautiful styles .  She decided that she likes twists (sort of) so i twisted it for Easter:

Of course, I forgot to get a close up, but it was flat twisted in the front and rope twisted in the back.  The top picture is of her about a week later once I pulled it all up and let her wear a twist out (that only lasted 2 days because it puffed up and she HATES big hair) We're working on that.

I used Herbal Essences Hello Hydration, Shea moisture curling souffle, coconut oil, and My FAVORITE product (both girls have dry itchy scalp issues) Shea moisture African Black Soap scalp elixr .

Getting Started

Hi! I'm Ash, and I have 2 daughters.  This blog will be about our hair journey and adventures.  My oldest is 11 and HATES having her hair natural, she loves the straight look and has been fighting me over this, however, I have been working to find ways to help her embrace her hair in its natural state, as well as keep it healthy.  My younget is 4 and does not care about her hair, because she would rather be doing ANYTHING else in the world rather than getting styled.. Her hair is an adventure because she has had eczema in her scalp, and was completely bald in the back for several months.  I got that to grow back, in spite of the 2 (yes 2) haircuts she has given herself in the preschool bathrooms...

Here goes..LOL
